Dr. Tom Herlugson
Dr. Herlugson graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. After relocating from Niles, IL where he worked at an avian and small animal hospital, he joined Mukwonago Animal Hospital in 1991 as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Herlugson’s special interests include birds as well as small pocket pets.
In his spare time, Dr. Herlugson enjoys golfing, hunting and skydiving. Dr. Herlugson and his family live in East Troy and have 1 dog, multiple cats, a few goats and some feathered friends.
Dr. LeeAnne Sherrod
Dr. Sherrod graduated from the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After relocating from Appleton, WI where she worked at a small animal hospital, she joined Mukwonago Animal Hospital in 1999 as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Sherrod’s special interests include the use of Ultrasound Imaging for diagnostics and internal medicine.
In her spare time, Dr. Sherrod enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children. They love traveling, hiking and hanging out with their menagerie of dogs, cats and lizards. As a family, they are also very involved in mission activities through their church, scouting and various kids’ extracurricular activities.
Dr. Danielle Bittner
Dr. Bittner graduated from Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her fourth year clinical rotation at UW Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Dr. Bittner grew up in Mukwonago. She has been interested in veterinary medicine since she was a child and even worked here at the Mukwonago Animal Hospital when she was in high school and college. She joined the hospital as an associate veterinarian in 2009.
In her free time Dr. Bittner enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She also has two dogs, Baloo and Wheezy, as well as a chameleon and plenty of fish.
Dr. Sara Thompson
Dr. Thompson graduated from Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in East Troy, worked in small animal and emergency medicine for several years in the Chicago and Milwaukee areas and has now moved back to her home town. She finds all areas of veterinary medicine rewarding, but has a special interest in integrative medicine. She is certified in veterinary acupuncture and animal chiropractic, or VSMT.
In her free time, Dr. Thompson enjoys the outdoors with her husband, two children and their dog, Walani. She also has two cats, Sherman and Lucille She also enjoys gardening, cooking, and working on renovating their new home in East Troy.
Dr. Martha Johnson
Dr. Johnson graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. After graduation she began working in small animal general practice in Illinois. In 2015, she happily returned to her home state of Wisconsin, and hopes to never leave again. She enjoys playing tennis, running, hiking and going for long bike rides. She is constantly entertained by her furry family consisting of 2 dogs and a tabby cat. Special areas of interest include internal medicine and oncology.
Dr. Jessica Oliver
Dr. Oliver graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She previously worked at Mukwonago Animal Hospital for five years after graduation. She then worked at North Lake Veterinary Clinic in Hartland before returning to MAH in 2018 and is happy to be back. She enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine and has special interests in internal medicine and senior wellness.
In her free time she likes to spend time with her husband Wrye. They have Odin, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and Matilda, a Sphynx cat. She loves hiking, baking, gardening, restoring their natural prairie, and ensuring the success of bluebirds in their yard.
Sarah has been at the hospital for 7 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe and their dogs Pete and Molly. She also has a cat named Nyjer and a horse named Scotty. Her hobbies include horseback riding, boating, and motorcycle riding.
Jessica, Client Care Specialist Manager
Jessica has worked at the hospital for 2 years. She loves spending time with her husband Kyle and son Cameron. She has two dogs- Cliff and Emma and two cats- Snoop and Lloyd. She enjoys spending time outdoors/on the lake, spending time with family, photography, decorating and nutrition. She loves working at the hospital because of the variety. She enjoys her coworkers, developing relationships with clients and their pets, and being there for them when they need us.
Katie, Lead Veterinary Technician
Katie has been at the hospital for 9 years. She loves spending time with her husband Corey, daughter Novialie, and step daughter Makenzie. She has four cats- Mikey, Scooter, Kiya, and Benny. She also has two shelties, Torque and Malibu. Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends and crafting. At the hospital she enjoys working with all the different types and breeds of animals, and getting to know all of our amazing clients, she truly loves what she does.
Ashley, Lead Veterinary Technician
Ashley has worked at the hospital for 5 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt and they are expecting their first child in January of 2018. They have two dogs, Annie and Brandy, and three cats, Ace, Tilt, and Habnero. In the future she hopes to add chickens and goats to the crew. Her hobbies include traveling, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. She loves working at the hospital because she loves seeing new owners excited about their new pets, she loves that the hospital is involved in helping the community, and she loves seeing sick animals recover and go home with their families.

Kim, Client Care Specialist
Kim is a very familiar face at the front desk, she has worked here for 19 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband Jon and her daughter, Olivia. They have two dogs- Cooper and Winston, and a cat – Rosie. Her hobbies include gardening, camping, hiking, boating, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She loves interacting with all of the patients and building a rapport with our clients.
Melissa, Client Care Specialist
Melissa has worked at the hospital for 17 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Joey, and two boys, Nathan and Matthew. She has a small herd of collies and a cat, Morgan. She also enjoys dog shows, watching her boys in athletic events, running, and reading. At the hospital she loves helping people help their pets.
Karla, Client Care Specialist
Karla is a familiar face at the front desk as well and has worked a the hospital for 17 years. She loves spending time with her daughters, Amanda and Rachel. She has a dog named Dasher and two cats, Dobby and Kasper taco. Her hobbies include: hiking, camping, and traveling. At the hospital she enjoys talking with and helping our clients.
Heidi, Veterinary Technician
Heidi has worked at the hospital for 9 years. She loves spending time with her husband, Shawn and daughter, Hope. She has one cat named Hilary and a fish named Flo. She enjoys reading, motorcycle rides with Shawn, volunteering at her church and fundraising for the American Cancer Society. Heidi enjoys the different challenges that every day at the hospital brings and knows that she is able to help and comfort animals in need.
Trisha, Veterinary Technician
Trisha has worked at the hospital as a technician for 2 years. She enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Mike and her two children, Maxon and Makenzie. They have three dogs, Virigl, Knuckles and Pistol. Her hobbies include working out, dancing and spending time with friends. She loves working alongside others that have the same passion as she does about animals.

She has three cats- Kira, Nugget, and Morticia, a fish named King and two snakes- India and Jonesy. Her hobbies include DoTerra Essential Oils, spending time with friends and family, cooking, and camping. She likes working at the hospital because she likes learning new things everyday and being able to help pets in need.
